U.K. automotive products and auto repair retailer Halfords Group PLC (HFD.LN) Monday said it has appointed Marks & Spencer Group PLC (MKS.LN) executive Andrew Findlay as its new Finance Director.

Halfords said Findlay--who is currently director of Finance, Tax and Treasury at Marks and Spencer--will join Halfords on February 1 2011.

While at Marks & Spencer, Findlay played a key role in driving through cost savings and delivering improvements in working capital, Halfords said in its statement.

Prior to joining Marks & Spencer, Findlay--who qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers and Lybrand--held senior finance roles at the London Stock Exchange and Cable and Wireless (CWC.LN), both in the U.K. and U.S.
