Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ) (Nasdaq:IIJI) (TSE1:3774), one
of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network
solutions providers, and 100% owned IIJ subsidiary IIJ Global
Solutions Inc. — provider of WAN services for corporate clients —
today announced the release of the new Business Application Service
Suite, a suite of cloud-based applications that support
mission-critical operations, as part of its effort to develop
services for the business application market. The first service
will be launched in June 2012 with the release of G-BASS "ERP" — a
cloud-based service that provides support for mission-critical
operations and can be used in any country worldwide. (*1) (*2)
G-BASS "ERP" combines IIJ's cloud service IIJ GIO infrastructure
and RORY CONSULTING's ERP package, ReCent, which provides
accounting, order processing, inventory, fixed-asset management,
and other functions through individual modules. ReCent has already
been widely adopted in Japan, and compared with systems constructed
using the traditional SI model, ReCent delivers an optimized ERP
system suited to the client's environment quickly and
inexpensively. With this service, clients can optimize business
processes at overseas branches and affiliated companies, quickly
implement integrated group accounting, and achieve a lower TCO.
Below is a list of feature highlights.
- A service with the high reliability and high quality of IIJ GIO
infrastructure
The service supports mission-critical operations with the global
IIJ GIO cloud service providing the infrastructure. Since its
release in 2009, IIJ GIO has been adopted by more than 600
blue-chip clients, primarily governmental and large enterprises,
and the highly reliable system infrastructure and high-quality
service operation backed by this experience provide a safe and
secure platform for even the most vital mission-critical
application services.
- Advanced ERP software with global reach
ReCent is an ERP package developed using open-source ERP, which
has been implemented at more than 1,000 enterprises globally, and
provides accounting, order processing, inventory, and fixed-asset
management functions. It is compatible with Japanese, English,
Chinese, and other languages, multiple currencies, and can be
easily customized to comply with the accounting standards used in
other countries, which makes it ideal for use in overseas offices.
It can also be integrated with existing on-premise ERP systems,
enabling the tracking of a global business, rapid creation and
implementation of business strategies, implementation of internal
controls, and much more.
- Cloud-model enables quick service startup
Unlike with the SI model of implementation, there is no need to
coordinate or manage all the different vendors of applications,
middle-ware, hardware, and other components, which enables a quick
service release. In addition, based on the more than 20 years of
experience in building ERP systems, the necessary ReCent functions
have been optimized and can be used with a minimum of customization
of ledgers and administrative screens. With the standard accounting
module, a service can be started within one to two months after
confirming the system requirements.
- A flexible and reliable application service
Combining the years of experience in ERP implementation of RORY
CONSULTING consultants and the expertise in global projects of IIJ
Global engineers, we can optimize the client's business processes
and systems to support the smooth implementation of services. The
system can be easily customized and its functions expanded through
add-ons, making it possible to implement optimized application
services specifically designed for the client's business
processes.
- Low-price cloud service minimizes initial investment
Because the cloud service is already configured with the
software, system infrastructure, and operation services to meet
most clients' needs, there is no need for the large initial
investment required in traditional ERP system construction.
Starting at JPY 220,000 per month for five accounts, new users can
be added freely with a corresponding increase in the monthly fee,
making it possible to scale the service as the client's business
grows.
IIJ Global has been providing IT infrastructure services,
primarily global network services, to support the global expansion
of our clients. With the introduction of this new ERP cloud
service, we can provide the entire gamut of services, from IT
infrastructure to business applications, allowing us to accelerate
our client's global business. We plan to expand the business
application service suite with features like sales force automation
tools.
