French broadcaster M6 Metropole Television (MTPVY) said Tuesday its revenue for the first quarter of this year was 10% above that a year earlier, driven by non-advertising revenue.

First-quarter revenue was EUR361.1 million compared to EUR327.4 million previously.

Advertising revenue rose by 4.5% to EUR179.1 million, including EUR150 million for M6 channel's advertising revenue, while non-advertising revenue was 17% higher at EUR182 million.

The company said it plans to pay a dividend of EUR2.35 a share, including a EUR1.50 special dividend related to the sale of M6's 5.1% Canal + France stake to Vivendi SA (VIVDY), for a cash amount of EUR384.2 million.

M6 said it had net cash of EUR553.2 million at the end of March.
