NetImpact Fields Inquiries From Singapore, Vietnam, China, Mexico;
Lab In a Box Critical to Disease Detection and Control LAS VEGAS,
Nov. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NetImpact Holdings, Inc.
(PinkSheets: NTHD) announced today a recent article in TIME
magazine about their MDS 200 "lab in a box" has generated numerous
inquiries from countries, institutions, hospitals, foundations and
organizations worldwide. The TIME magazine article reports "The MDS
200 can detect disease outbreaks in remote areas". A portable
device, the "lab in a box" utilizes samples of blood, saliva, sweat
or urine to identify numerous diseases. Ready for global
deployment, NetImpact expects to begin equipping hospitals in Mali
early next year with the MDS 200. NetImpact is presently defining
likely candidates for the next round of deployments from a mounting
list of requests including those from Singapore, Vietnam, China and
Mexico. http://www.optenberg.com/PressReleases/TimeMagArticle.htm
According to NetImpact, the popularity of the MDS 200 "lab in a
box" has risen dramatically since the TIME magazine piece.
NetImpact explains to those soliciting information about the device
that it is a rugged portable laboratory for use in remote areas
with non-existent or scarce medical facilities. The size of a small
suitcase, it can be readily carried from location to location. If
electricity is not available, the MDS 200 can run on battery or
solar power with test results sent via portable satellite or dial
up connections. Once a sample has been placed in the unit the
processing is automatic; it does not require a trained laboratory
technician and operators can become familiar with it in minutes,
each unit will be configured to recognize the most significant
disease threat in the country or region where it is to be deployed,
and if one or more diseases are present in the sample the system
will identify the diseases, display them on the output screen, and
transmit the information electronically to the designated
physician/medical facility. The portable "lab in a box" can also be
easily be set up as a stationary device creating a laboratory in a
hospital or clinic that has little to no lab equipment. Once the
requirements have been determined, NetImpact can employ several
units testing many patients simultaneously. About NetImpact
