PLANO, Texas, Nov. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/
-- ContentGuard, a subsidiary of Pendrell Corporation
(NASDAQ:PCO), announced today enhancements to Yovo, its
breakthrough ephemeral messaging app, so that users can enjoy
secure and regret-free photo sharing. Yovo now offers users
five options, including cypher, disco, hex and wavy patterns, along
with an upgraded D-fence screenshot protection feature that give
users unprecedented flexibility to scramble images and avoid
unwanted copying via patent-pending technology.
With Yovo, users can share pictures and messages that
self-destruct and cannot be forwarded, both privately within the
Yovo app and publicly with friends across social media, including
Facebook and Twitter, and even through mobile email and SMS.
With Yovo, users can also easily blur all or a portion of photos
and selectively choose who can discover what is behind the blur. A
self-destruct timer can be set from one second to 24 hours and
works even if the recipient of the image is no longer connected to
a wireless network. To provide enhanced security, images are
deleted from Yovo servers based on the expiration settings set by
the user (or the default setting of 24 hours), offering a critical
layer of protection not available in other apps. And, Yovo
features 256-bit AES encryption and a proprietary format that can
only be viewed within the app itself versus a common format such as
.JPG.
"With self-destructing messages and the ability to delete images
from Yovo servers, we offer more choices for privacy control and
social sharing than any other ephemeral app," said Scott Richardson, ContentGuard's chief product
officer. "Plus, the new enhancements to our patent-pending
screenshot scrambling capabilities give consumers the advanced
privacy protection features that only Yovo delivers."
The Yovo app is available for free across all iOS devices
(iPhone, iPod and iPad) from the App Store or from www.yovo.me. In
the coming weeks and months, new versions of Yovo will be released,
which will include enhanced messaging and video capabilities, as
well as Yovo for Android. For a demonstration of how Yovo
