Social Media Ventures, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SMVI) today announced that it has formulated a new corporate strategy, coinciding with its recent announcement of its new marketing agreement with its internet savvy marketing partner, the DPM Group.

The Company's new strategy is to establish itself as an important player in the pet industry through its pet social networking site, PetsPlaces.com. Under the direction of CEO Robert W. Thayer, the Company will endeavor to raise significant interest in its most popular social networking site, www.petsplaces.com by utilizing a database of millions of opt-in emails of pet owners in North America. The email campaign will be managed by the DPM Group with a goal to increase the online membership and popularity of PetsPlaces.com by sending targeted emails offering product discounts and other offerings from PetsPlaces.com. The company hopes that these emails will not only attract new members but also attract new online consumers of pet products currently offered through the site.

"This marketing campaign is a terrific next step for SMVI. My goal is to make PetsPlaces.com a revenue producing social networking site by increasing our membership and thus attracting new paying advertisers as well as additional lucrative affiliate agreements. We are looking to have at least 200%-300% growth in membership per quarter during this marketing campaign. This is why we entered into this marketing agreement. Not only will a large consortium of active members help us achieve our goal of creating additional advertising revenue, but the valuation on the social networking site would increase dramatically providing the Company with a great asset," stated Robert W. The marketing agreement is set to begin within the next 30 days. The Company is also redesigning certain portions of the pet's social networking portal to provide new services for its members as well as adding a new online ecommerce pet store to increase the company's existing revenue.
