PARIS--French billionaire Vincent Bollore has refrained from
seeking board representation at the shareholders assembly of video
game maker Ubisoft (UBI.FR), held Thursday, in which the company he
chairs, Vivendi SA (VIV.FR), owns 23%.
The shareholders reappointed Guillaume and Gerard Guillemot, the
founders of Ubisoft, as board members with a majority of votes and
Vivendi didn't request company representatives were appointed to
the board.
A spokesman from Vivendi declined to say whether the company
voted for or against the appointment of the Guillemot brothers.
Investors and shareholders had expected Vivendi, which has
gradually acquired a 23% stake in Ubisoft, would ask for a board
representation, that could open the door to a more active role for
Mr. Bollore in the company, or even a full takeover.
