    Publication of Supplementary Prospectus by Westpac Banking Corporation and WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited

    The following supplementary prospectus has been approved by the United Kingdom Listing Authority (the "UKLA") and is available for
viewing:

    Supplementary prospectus dated 30 May 2008 (the "Supplementary Prospectus") to the Base Prospectus dated 9 November 2007 relating to the
Programme for the Issuance of Debt Instruments established by Westpac Banking Corporation and WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited (acting
through its London branch) and unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Westpac Banking Corporation in the case of instruments issued
by WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited. The Supplementary Prospectus incorporates by reference the Westpac Banking Corporation media release
dated 26 May 2008 announcing that a Merger Implementation Agreement had been signed by Westpac Banking Corporation and St.George Bank
Limited in relation to the proposed merger of those companies (the "Media Release").
