                                 AGM Statement


The Chairman of CPL Resources plc, John Hennessy, will make the following
statement at the Company's Annual General Meeting to be held today at 4pm in the
Merrion Hotel Dublin.

Trading update

"The CPL Group has continued to perform well since 30 June 2007 and the Board
expects that the results for the six months to 31 December 2007 will be in line
with current market expectations.

Demand remains strong for permanent, temporary and contract employees. CPL is
investing in strengthening its local and international operations, enhancing the
Group's infrastructure and continuing to develop talented professionals, in
order to capitalise on the opportunities for growth which we see across our
businesses.

The businesses we acquired in the year to 30 June 2007 have been integrated into
the Group and are all performing well.

Current trading conditions indicate that the business will continue to perform
well over the coming months."

Board Membership

"One of our longest-serving directors, Pat Garvey, has indicated his intention
to retire from the Board with effect from the conclusion of the Company's annual
general meeting today.

Pat has been a non-executive director of CPL Resources plc since we came to the
market in June 1999.  Since then he has been a tremendous contributor to and
supporter of the Group.  He has brought to the Board his considerable expertise
and experience as an entrepreneur, a businessman and a director.  All of the
shareholders have benefited from his outstanding contribution to the business
over a period of more than 8 years.  It is with a mixture of gratitude and
sadness that we mark Pat's contribution to, and departure from, the Board, and
we wish him well in the future.

A further announcement regarding membership of the Board will be made in the
near future."
