                  PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES & TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS

Goldshield Group plc announces that on 14 March 2008 it purchased for treasury
750,000 ordinary shares of 5p each, at a price of 295 pence per share. The
highest price paid was 295p and the lowest price paid was 295p.

Following this purchase the share capital of the Company consists of 38,367,046
ordinary shares, including (1,550,000) treasury shares held by the Company.

For reporting purposes under section 198 of the Companies Act 1985, the market
should exclude any shares held in treasury.
