SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
SAIC's OneSAF(R) (One Semi-Automated Forces) team recently released
the OneSAF(R) Objective System Version 1.5 software to the Army's
Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and
Instrumentation (PEO STRI). This completes the first major update
of OneSAF since the initial release of version 1.0 on Sept. 29,
2006. OneSAF allows users to configure computer generated force
systems exactly as they need to support their simulation
requirements. Training, experimentation, and analysis users can
quickly adapt the system to their needs with the system's tools.
Version 1.5 adds military models for the United State Marine Corps
and Naval systems and civilian models for civilian infrastructure,
normal civilian behavior, and terrorist/insurgent behavior. "This
is a major milestone in the OneSAF(R) program," said Eric Root,
SAIC's OneSAF(R) program manager. "Since the release of Version 1.0
PEO STRI has released more than 200 copies of the product to users
across the Department of Defense." During the development phase,
the OneSAF(R) Government/Industry Team won several awards for its
innovative approach to meeting the requirements, including the
Crosstalk Award for being one of the Top 5 DoD software development
programs in 2003. SAIC also recently delivered OneSAF(R) Version
1.0 international to PEO STRI and was awarded the first OneSAF(R)
foreign military sales case with South Korea. "I am very pleased
with what our team has accomplished with this program," said
Beverly Seay, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general
manager. "We approached this effort in a spirit of true
collaboration with our customer and the other members of the
industry team and the results of that approach are apparent to
anyone who has seen this system or the team in action. It is a
truly cooperative environment, and as a result is providing our
warfighters with a powerful new capability." SAIC is a leading
