Directorate Change Amendment

The issuer advises that the following amends the Directorate Change announcement
released today at 15.37 under RNS No 4036T.  In the second paragraph the
reference to Mr Cushing has been removed.  All other details remain the same and
the full amended text appears below.

Appointment of Finance Director

Shoprite Group P.L.C. is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Cushing
ACMA as Financial Director, following the decision of Martin Poole to pursue a
career outside the food industry.

Janet Corkish ACMA, ACIS, who has been with the Group for 13 years will assume
day to day responsibility as Chief Accountant.

Both appointments are effective immediately.

Information regarding Mr Cushing required by Schedule 2g of the AIM rules is
given below:

(i) Neil Alan Cushing age 37
(ii) Village Walk Ltd - current directorship
