                 Shieldtech plc ("Shieldtech" or "the Company")

                             Grant of share options

Shieldtech plc today announces that it has granted 200,000 share options at an
exercise price of 25p to Robert Denton, the Group Finance Director, under the
Company's unapproved share option scheme.  Under the rules of the scheme, these
options may be exercised at any time until the tenth anniversary of the date of
grant.
