Response to BBC statement on JAM

The Company notes the announcement yesterday by the BBC Trust that it is
suspending its on-line education service, BBC  Jam, pending a review.  It is not
clear whether the suspension will become permanent or whether the project will
be  restructured to appease commercial suppliers of on-line education.

The Company confirms that it currently has a number of contracts with BBC Jam
but that it is too early to say what   effect, if any,  this suspension will
have on the Company. It is understood that the BBC, recognising the potential 
impact of suspension on its own staff as well as suppliers, is considering how
the suspension should be managed.   The  Company believes that it would be
entitled to compensation in the event that any of its contracts are terminated.

A further announcement will be made in due course.
