                    TRANSACTION IN OWN SECURITIES

On 15 September 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 329,000 GBP
shares at a range of prices from GBP 9.30 to GBP 9.39  (the
"Transaction")

On 15 September 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 525,000 EUR
shares at a range of prices from EUR 8.88 to EUR 8.95 (the
"Transaction")

On 15 September 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 46,000 US$
shares at a range of prices from US$ 9.25 to US$ 9.30 (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
329,000 of its GBP issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued GBP shares of the Company to 31,418,491. (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
525,000 of its EUR issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued EUR shares of the Company to 58,966,626. (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
46,000 of its US$ issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued US$ shares of the Company to 21,427,567. (the
"Transaction")

Following the Transaction, there are now in issue (to the exclusion
of those held in treasury) 53,903,731 EUR Shares, 19,478,172 US$
Shares and 29,012,951 GBP Shares.  The total number of shares held in
treasury are 5,062,895 EUR Shares, 1,949,395 US$ Shares and 2,405,540
GBP Shares.
