Ultrasis plc ("Ultrasis" or "the Company)
Ultrasis announce three-year contract for Step Success.
Ultrasis is pleased to announce a three-year contract with
Hertsmere Borough Council (HBC) to deliver a wellness platform and
community health programme through the Step Success portal.
Hertsmere Borough Council has been awarded 'Community Sports
Activation' funding from Sport England to deliver a community
health programme for women and girls aged 14 to 25 in the Hertsmere
area. A number of partners across Hertsmere are coming together to
help deliver the programme including, Hertsmere Borough Council,
Hertsmere Leisure, Arsenal Ladies, Children's Centers and Ultrasis,
who will be creating the platform that the programme will be
delivered through.
The initial contract with Ultrasis has a value of approximately
GBP42,000 over a three year period. The council will fund the
contract through the Sport England grant, with the opportunity for
this to be increased over the contract term. It is intended that
the scheme will promote, 'the pebble' (an activity tracking device)
to local residents for them to purchase it directly from the Step
Success portal.
"Hertsmere Borough Council, like all Local Authorities have the
duty to work in partnership with the County Council to provide good
Public Health and Wellbeing services to their communities and we
see this as an innovative and forward thinking way to engage people
in ways to measure their activity as a way of promoting exercise
and wellness." says Ultrasis chief Executive John Smith.
He added "Hertsmere has seen the potential of Step Success as a
way of promoting both engagement and behaviour change and should be
applauded for their forward thinking approaches. We expect that
other Local Authorities will look at what they are doing and
consider how Step Success could help them deliver on this very
important agenda."
Cllr Brenda Batten, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and
Health, said: "This is a fabulous opportunity for young women and
girls to get into sport and fitness. The council has worked hard to
secure the funding from Sport England to put on a variety of
activities and working with Ultrasis adds a different dynamic to
the programme which will hopefully help keep participants
motivated."
