Van Dieman Completes #3 million Placement

Admission of Ordinary Shares

The Board of Directors has today announced that the Company has raised #2.8
million (net of expenses) by way of a placing of 20,000,000 new Ordinary Shares
at 15 pence per share ("Placing") which have been placed with institutions and
other investors. The 20,000,000 new Ordinary Shares being placed will represent
approximately 21.8 per cent of the Company's enlarged issued share capital and
will be admitted to trading on AIM on 29 December 2005.

The Company has undertaken the Placing principally to enable the Company to
place orders for two primary treatment plants and a tin concentrate clean-up
plant.
