    Appointment of Finance Director

    West China Cement ("WCC") is delighted to announce that it has appointed Po Ling Low as Finance Director with immediate effect. 
    Ms Low, aged 33, who is a Malaysian national, is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She has practised as an
accountant and has worked in audit practice and corporate finance in Malaysia, Singapore and the UK, with PricewaterhouseCooper, BDO,
Deloitte and Touche and PKF. Latterly she has worked in an investment company in Beijing. She is fluent in Mandarin and English. 
    Po Ling succeeds Zhenzun Tian as Finance Director. This will enable Mr Tian to focus on his other important functions at WCC where he is
responsible for the company's Lantian business, which is its largest operation.
    Robbie Robertson, Chairman of WCC, remarked that "Po Ling has worked for us in various consulting capacities since before the IPO in
2006 and is an outstanding talent. Her wide experience internationally and in China, as well as her track record with us, make her a strong
addition to our management team." 
    CEO Zhang Jimin added "Po Ling has made a significant contribution to the dramatic growth we have achieved, while acting as a
consultant. Mr Tian has exercised his finance and operational roles with distinction. This appointment, which allows him to focus on his
operational responsibilities, recognises the need to add to a strong management team as our business grows."

    Ms Low has confirmed that there is no further information to be disclosed in accordance with the requirements of Schedule 2(g) of the
AIM Rules for Companies.
