NEWARK, N.J., June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Public Service
Enterprise Group (PSEG) issued the following statement in support
of the proposed Global Warming Response Act, which was approved
today by the New Jersey Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities
Committee: Statement by PSEG PSEG is supportive of solutions that
address global warming and help Governor Corzine achieve his
objectives of reducing greenhouse gas levels, as outlined in
Executive Order 54. The proposed Global Warming Response Act is an
important first step. We look forward to being part of the ongoing
discussions involving the Governor's office, the legislative
leadership of both houses, regulatory agencies and other
stakeholders on this and other measures that target a reduction in
greenhouse gases. For its part, PSEG intends to be a leading
participant in New Jersey in working to reduce CO2 emissions,
consistent with Governor Corzine's targets. Our effort focuses on
ways to reduce electric and gas demand, the development of
renewable energy resources and the construction of clean, central
station power plants. So far this year, we have announced a solar
initiative and a program to replace our corporate vehicles with
hybrids. DATASOURCE: Public Service Enterprise Group CONTACT:
