BUFFALO, N.Y., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Highlights -- E & E has been awarded a five-year (one year plus four option years), $20 million basic ordering agreement contract with Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia for a variety of environmental planning and engineering services. The work to be performed provides preparation of documents including Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), as well as Environmental Reviews and Environmental Studies. Some examples of taskings could include home basing of aircraft, home basing of ships, new construction, renovation, and Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) actions and demolitions. Work will be performed for Navy and Marine Corps facilities in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic area of responsibility, including the continental United States, the Caribbean, Europe and North Africa. The first assignment under the contract is $762,606 for the preparation of an EA for introduction to the Fleet of the Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA). The MMA is essentially a 737 with enhancements to meet DoD mission requirements, incorporating improvements over existing aircraft. The EA will address the impacts associated with introduction of the MMA aircraft at alternative Navy air stations in the United States, including new aircraft operations, retirement of existing aircraft, and new construction and/or renovation of associated infrastructure and support facilities.
