A deal will likely be struck on the future of General Motors Corp.'s (GM) German Adam Opel AG unit at a summit later Friday, North Rhine-Westphalia state governor Juergen Ruettgers said.

"I expect that we will get a result today," Ruettgers said.

Ruettgers, however, criticized the behavior of GM at a summit Wednesday, saying it was "unacceptable."

He said if the negotiations for Opel fail the workers of the German carmaker have the right to call for management to take personal responsibility for the consequences.
