Edison Swings To Net Loss; Confirms 2011 EUR900 Million Ebitda

Edison SpA (EDN.MI), Italy's second-largest electricity and
natural gas company by capacity, Monday said it swung to a
first-half net loss of EUR62 million following a EUR77.5 million
write-down.
Edison, which is partly controlled by Electricite de France SA
(EDF.FR), confirmed it expects 2011 earnings before interest,
taxes, depreciation and amortization, or Ebitda, at EUR900
million.
MAIN FACTS:
- First-half net loss was EUR62 million compared with a net
profit of EUR142 million the year before.
- First-half Ebitda was EUR491 million compared with EUR626
million for the equivalent period in 2010.
- Revenue was EUR5.66 billion compared with EUR5.09 billion.
