The Taiwan dollar climbed to a 1-week high of 28.819 against the U.S. dollar in early Asian trades on Friday. The Taiwan dollar is now trading at 28.86 versus the greenback, compared to 28.925 hit late New York Thursday. If the Taiwan dollar gains further, it may target 28.7 level.

Today, Taiwan will release June's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate.
