EagleBank Foundation Continues the Fight Against Breast Cancer BETHESDA, Md., May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Eagle Bancorp, Inc., headquartered in Bethesda, MD, has formed The EagleBank Foundation, Inc. This new charitable arm of the holding company of EagleBank, a 7-1/2-year-old, local, community bank will initially focus on fighting breast cancer, a cause for which the bank raised over $80,000.00 in 2005. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20050927/EAGLEBANKLOGO ) The Bank held a very successful first annual charity golf tournament last year at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, MD. Funds raised were directed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. "The success of this past event and the outpouring of support from our community and its business leaders told us that this was something we wanted to continue. Our Foundation was established as a 501(c) (3) to qualify for tax deductible contributions. Further, the Foundation will now focus on those charities in our community who are helping our friends and neighbors fight the battle against breast cancer," commented Don Rogers, President of the Foundation. Rogers also serves on EagleBank's Board of Directors. This year's second annual EagleBank Charity Golf Tournament will, again, direct proceeds to the fight against breast cancer. A single organization or a group of area clinics are some of the considerations for this year's recipient. An announcement will be forthcoming as the tournament date of October 9th draws closer.
