James Monroe Bank (NASDAQ:JMBI) today announced the recent selection of Edward Harrington as Senior Vice President - Lending. Mr. Harrington will spearhead the bank's first expansion into Maryland, operating a loan production office in Montgomery County. Mr. Harrington will focus on loan production for small and medium sized businesses. Mr. Harrington has been a commercial banker for over 20 years, mostly in Montgomery County, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Most recently Mr. Harrington worked as Senior Vice President of BB&T. Prior to that, Mr. Harrington served as a senior officer for Greater Atlantic Bank, FSB, Metro Mortgage Corporation, and SequoiaBank where notably he grew the commercial and residential real estate portfolio from $48 million to $125 million. Mr. Harrington attended the Maryland Bankers School where he earned an MBA with honors. He earned a BA in mathematics from John Carroll University and served in the US Army where he was awarded the Commendation Medal. Additionally, Mr. Harrington was President of the Maryland State Golf Association and is currently a member of Congressional Country Club. Mr. Harrington makes his home in the North Potomac community of Maryland. John Maxwell, President and CEO, said.
