Mr. Batts has been a director with Methode Electronics, Inc. since 2001 and Chairman since 2004. �Director of the Year� is NACD�s most prestigious award, presented to the person who, after significant review by a committee of peers, is deemed to meet their designated criteria. Mr. Batts was awarded this honor on October 16, 2006 in Washington D.C. In 1997, Mr. Batts retired as Chairman of Premark International, Inc., where he also served as Chief Executive Officer from 1986 until 1996. He recently retired from the boards of Allstate, Cooper Industries, Sears, and Sprint. He has also served as the following: a director and the Chairman of Chicago Children�s Memorial Medical Center; a life trustee for the Art Institute of Chicago; a director and the Chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers; and a director of the NACD. Since 1998, Mr. Batts has taught as an Adjunct Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Mr. Batts received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1961 and M.B.A. with Distinction from the Harvard School of Business Administration in 1963.
