VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Visteon Corporation (NYSE:VC), a leading supplier of automotive systems and technology, has appointed Dorothy L. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20001201/DEF008LOGO ) Stephenson will report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Johnston and, as a member of Visteon's global leadership team, will be responsible for all aspects of the company's human resources practice, including employee recruitment and development, compensation and benefits, labor relations and organization strategy and structure. Stephenson has been a human resources consultant for the past three years, following a 27-year career at Bethlehem Steel Corp., where most recently she was vice president, human resources. "Dorothy's leadership experience in a global manufacturing organization and her outstanding legal knowledge -- along with her ability to attract, develop and retain talented people -- make her the ideal leader for our human resources function," Johnston said. "We expect her to play a key role as we implement our three-year plan to ensure Visteon is not only a successful company, but one that invests in its people and helps them grow within the organization." Stephenson succeeds Robert H. Marcin as Visteon's senior human resources leader. In late 2005, Marcin assumed a new position developing programs to ensure excellence in the company's leadership processes at all levels. "Bob's contributions to Visteon are well known within the company and the industry, and we look forward to his ongoing strategic counsel," Johnston said. Stephenson, who holds a law degree from the University of Louisville School of Law, began her career as a trial attorney for the National Labor Relations Board. After joining Bethlehem Steel in 1976 as a labor attorney, she progressed through several positions of increasing responsibility in the company's law department, including senior attorney and labor counsel. In 1990 Stephenson was named corporate manager of union relations, and in 1994 she became manager of human resources for Bethlehem Structural Products Corp. In 1996, she was appointed vice president, human resources, a position she held through 2003. In addition to obtaining a law degree from Louisville, Stephenson graduated from the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. She has a bachelor of science degree in textiles and home sciences from the University of Kentucky.
