Capital One Financial Corp. (COF) said it would reopen its
banking branches in the mid-Atlantic region after they were closed
because of Hurricane Sandy.
Branches in northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.,
will be opening at noon Tuesday. The Rehoboth, Del., branch, as
well as branches in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will
remain closed, the bank said. Its ING DIRECT cafes in New York City
and Philadelphia also will stay closed.
Most big banks had decided to close their branches Monday in the
mid-Atlantic and metropolitan New York areas for the safety of
employees and customers. But the Office of the Comptroller of the
Currency, the primary regulators or federally chartered banks, had
said Monday it expect banks to reopen their branches as fast as
possible.

The headline is out. FYI ... 1) Our coding browser doesn't work,
so all coding is off the top of my head. 2) The person monitoring
email just had his computer crash. I'm taking that over now but am
juggling other stuff. Please excuse any delays.
