Duke Energy on Thursday said its board raised the quarterly dividend by 2%, to $1.025 from $1.005.

The new payout, equal to $4.10 a year, represents an annual yield of about 4.44% based on Wednesday's closing price of $92.36, up from 4.35%.

The Charlotte, N.C., energy holding company said the increased dividend is payable Sept. 18 to shareholders of record Aug. 18.
