                             Director's Shareholding


The Company was informed today that Aspen Finance Limited, a company in which 
Michael Stevens, chairman of Artisan, is beneficially interested as a director 
and as a potential beneficiary of its parent company, Okaba Management, Inc., 
purchased 3,000,000 shares at 2.25p per share on Friday 9 May 2003.

Aspen Finance now holds 29,666,667 ordinary shares in Artisan, representing
10.28% of Artisan's issued share capital.
