Cathay International Holdings Limited ("Cathay" or the "Company") announces
today that Mr Roger Chow has resigned as a Director of the Board, effective from
yesterday, to pursue other interests. Mr Chow will remain with the Company
until January 2004 as a consultant to assist in an orderly transition.
Mr Yumin Mao, aged 48, has been appointed as an Executive Director of the
Company, effective from yesterday. Mr Mao joined the Company in May 2003 and is
responsible for the Company's growing pharmaceutical business. He will also
assume responsibility for the operations of the Landmark Hotel, Cathay's
351-room five-star hotel in Shenzhen, China.
Mr. Mao is an experienced manager with extensive experience at senior executive
level in international banking and finance. Before joining Cathay, Mr. Mao was
General Manager of the Hong Kong Branch of China Construction Bank, one of
China's leading banks. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Jiangxi
University of Finance and Economics in China, and has attended the Program for
Management Development at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business
Administration.
Mr Stephen Hunt, Deputy Chairman of Cathay, commented: "I am very pleased to
welcome Mr Yumin Mao to the Board of Cathay. He brings with him a wealth of
broad and relevant experience in developing business in China, and I have no
doubt that he will make a significant contribution to the Company. We would

future."
