ATLANTA, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Enterprises announced today
that Marybeth Leamer has been promoted to senior vice president of
human resources from vice president of human resources, effective

"Marybeth plays a critical role at Cox. Through the strategic
programs she and her team have created and led, Cox continues to
recruit, retain and develop top talent to support company growth,"
said Hughes. "Marybeth has also been superb at aligning Cox's human
resource efforts with its business goals." Leamer is responsible
for executive compensation, benefits, executive development and
training, diversity training and recruiting and employee relations.
She also oversees the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) that
provides all HR data and analysis for the company. Leamer recently
celebrated her 25th anniversary with Cox. She joined the company in
1982 as a compensation analyst for Cox Communications, its cable
television division. She was promoted to senior compensation
analyst in 1984, then manager of compensation and benefits in 1985.
In 1986, Leamer transferred to Cox Enterprises, the parent company,
as a compensation administrator, where she was promoted to various
roles of increasing responsibility. Under Leamer's leadership, Cox
has implemented human resources strategies that have served the
changing needs of the company's 80,000 employees and also a variety
of business demands. These have included a primary focus on best-
in-class employee training and leadership development programs,
expanded and competitive health and retirement benefits, employee
self-service initiatives, improved communications, and innovation
in diversity so that it's not a "program" in itself, rather
something that is woven through all Cox initiatives. With Leamer's
guidance, Cox has also maintained a zero percent increase in the
cost of benefits to employees in the last four of six years. Along
with her contributions to Cox, Leamer is an active member in the
community. She is a board member for the Metro Atlanta YMCA where
she chairs the compensation committee and also serves on the
advisory board for Kennesaw State University's Coles College of
Business. Previously a president of the organization, she currently
serves on the executive committee of the Human Resources Leadership
Forum, the premier organization for Atlanta's HR executives. She is
also a member of the Human Resources Planning Society. Cox
