Jan Valentic Named Senior Vice President, Marketing at ScottsMiracle-Gro

MARYSVILLE, Ohio, March 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Scotts
Miracle- Gro Company, the global leader in the consumer lawn and
garden industry, announced that Jan Valentic has joined the Company
as senior vice president, Marketing. In this newly created role,
Valentic will be responsible for leading the Company's new media,
consumer insights, consumer services and interactive marketing
functions. She will also work to ensure that marketing is aligned
with all key areas of the organization. "Jan's extensive marketing
and brand building experience will help ScottsMiracle-Gro attract
more consumers to lawn and garden activities," said Jim Hagedorn,

benefit the consumer." Prior to joining ScottsMiracle-Gro, Valentic
most recently served as executive vice president with Young &
Rubicam Brands, leading the Team Microsoft relationship. Her
professional background also includes senior level positions with
Ford Motor Company, and work at the Leo Burnett agency, helping
clients such as Hallmark, McDonald's and Pillsbury strengthen their
brands. Valentic earned both a bachelor's and an MBA degree from
the University of Illinois. She has received numerous career
honors, including being named "Most Influential Woman" by Crain's
