28 July 2016 - 11:30PM
PR Newswire (Canada)
KELOWNA, BC, July 28, 2016 /CNW/ - TOTAL TELCOM INC. (TSX
Venture: TTZ) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary
ROM Communications Inc. has been appointed the satellite tracking
and online mapping partner for the largest Off-Road racing events
in the United States. ROM upgraded
its existing ROMTraX satellite tracking equipment for off-road
racing with new electronics and firmware to be marketed as
"RacingTraX". The devices are only available for rent on a per race
basis and ROM is required by Race Organizers to make available 250
+/- devices for each of the estimated four annual races. ROM
further committed to developing a battery powered, smaller form
version of RacingTraX for motorcycles and ATV's currently exempt
from the mandatory tracking which would bring the rental pool to
400 devices in the new year. The first race will be the 20th
Anniversary of the World famous Vegas to Reno on August 18, 2016.
Company CEO, Neil Magrath, stated
"North America has a large
off-road racing culture which is growing in part to using
technology such as ROM's to create a virtual link to a "connected"
fan base. We see a real opportunity to expand our customer base and
provide related services to numerous support companies that are
required at these large events, additional race support services
and increased TextAnywhere 2-way satellite text usage in these
predominately no cellular coverage event areas."
