Air China Ltd. (0753.HK) agreed to buy 12 A330-300 aircraft from Airbus Group SE(AIR.FR) for a combined list price of US$2.93 billion.

The Chinese flag carrier said in a filing that the medium-haul aircraft, which will be delivered between 2016 and 2018, are expected to increase its capacity by about 5.6%.

The latest deal comes after rival China Southern Airlines Co. (1055.HK), the nation's biggest airline by fleet size, in December sealed a deal to buy 10 A330-300 aircraft from Airbus for a combined list price of US$2.27 billion.
