dead cat jump or fake volume? Is this still suspended?

Yes. One of the rare suspended stocks that looks as if it'll never trade again. Serves Jarvis right.

I see it hasn't traded a single share since it came off suspension.

janice shell janice shell 9 years ago
Maybe, but I'm not so sure. That could result in something like the foreign policy failures that have resulted from our decreasing reliance on human intelligence.

And sadly, I doubt this case will result in civil litigation or prosecution. The SEC saw Jarvis's application to set up an ATS, realized it was ridiculous, and shut it down. That achieved their immediate object. Probably he won't try it again, unless he's even dumber than I think. But that doesn't mean he won't stop being a crook. Maybe this action will prompt state authorities to take a look at him, but I'm not holding my breath.

And I'm not convinced that any algo program would have picked up on AVLS. In this incarnation, at least, there was no sudden heavy volume and no spectacular rise (or fall) in stock price. In sum, not much happened. For once, the action was largely preventive. But somebody should have prevented Jarvis's predations, and attempted predations, years ago.

There are characteristics of these fraudulent companies that could be applied to management and registration characteristics and trading patterns.

AI would probably identify 90% of the companies as suspicious, but it could also order them for ability to prosecute.

A good AI program optimizes man hours.
👍️0
janice shell janice shell 9 years ago
Huh? What would an algo do for them? This is a much, much simpler kind of fraud. It's just Jarvis making up a pretend exchange and promoting it.
👍️0
XenaLives XenaLives 9 years ago
Actually a good algo would be cheaper. The scummiest of the scum would rise to the top for priority treatment.

The MM's use them,why shouldn't the SEC?

👍️0
janice shell janice shell 9 years ago
Not a peep. They haven't even been sued--at least not by the regulators--so probably they're not hiding at all.

If they're obvious to someone through public DD, why can't the SEC create a penny fraud Algorithm to scan these things?

Why can't they just pay attention to the complaints they get, and look into them? People have been complaining about Jarvis for years. And any connection to Zoyes should be a great big red flag.

I agree, too many of these schemes are obvious once you get some good DD skills, unfortunately there are hordes of inexperienced people that enter the market every day.

If they're obvious to someone through public DD, why can't the SEC create a penny fraud Algorithm to scan these things?

They will just use another ticker to run a new scam.

The SEC needs to go after the lawyers that write opinion letters knowing full well they are allowing frauds to be sold to the public.

That's what I wanna see, the sleezy-anything for a buck attorneys being held accountable - perp walk them.

But the SEC and FINRA are also to blame because they allow attorneys who have been deemed unfit to represent public companies continue to represent public companies..... get rid of the lying, cheating, stealing attorneys and part of the problem will fix itself. Diane and Owen come to mind. Any attorney taking shares as compensation should be jailed IMO. Look up the junk those 2 do letters for.

A good place to start but doubt after years and years of the same thing I expect the SEC to only occassionally throw a suspension at the bad actors but never jail time.

So far, this is the only Matt James I could find in Conroe:

PEEBLES, MATT JAMES, 10/22/1983, 365 WESTVIEW LANE, CONROE, INSTANTER, D359, ABANDON/ENDANGER CHILD CRIM NEGLIGENCE, 1500, MCSO

As with most stinky pinkies, leaving out the last name is common. Look at Jarvis, he refers to himself as Daniel Jarvis.

Probably because she wears soooo many hats:

In addition to her role as CFO, Ms. Holden also filled the role as Producer, Director and Screenplay Writer.

AND she was "Vice President of JP Morgan Chase Securities". Probably all that means is that she was a broker. So'll I'll go have a look at Broker Check.

Samantha Osborn aka Samantha Jameson appears to be 34 years old.

Both girls use Texas A&M as the same name being in the same sustainability program. The girl on the university's website looks nothing like 34. The girl on linkedin is questionable as to age. But page notes she graduated this year. Not 34 years of age.

Jarvis is a f'n ....

Samantha Jameson - College Station Texas A&M. Just an hour north of Conroe and Tomball where Jarvis is.

I am passionate about community and finding innovative ways to ensure economic, environmental and social equity. I have just graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Geography, emphasis on sustainable planning, and am pursuing a career with an organization focused on community development and/or sustainability.

Remember to connect the dots with Samantha Jameson. She was the IR for both companies, and dropped off Grand Capital when Jarvis left. So she is his lackey and a participant in his scheme. She also listed the same Conroe address for both entities in the middle of some cow town in Texas, not too far from Jarvis's cow town.

No offense to cows

Here's my article about the first incarnation of the OTC Exchange scam in the GRCV shell, with an update about the suspension of AVLS:

Jarvis was going to create a stock exchange in the middle of a field in Texas?
👍️0
janice shell janice shell 9 years ago
I'm not convinced it was suspended because of what Stocker did years ago. I think it was because the notion of Jarvis promoting an "OTC Exchange" offended FINRA, who's credited in the suspension notice.

The OTC Exchange was, of course, just a fantasy, complete with photos taken from other websites.

If you read further in the correspondence between AVLS and the transfer agent

https://promotionstocksecrets.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/FINRAAVLS.pdf

Apparently before John Javis came in and hijacked the AVLS shell by making a new Wyoming business entity by the same name as the old in 2010, David Stocker had attempted to hijack the shell by creating a Nevada business entity by the same name on April 6, 2006.

http://nvsos.gov/sosentitysearch/CorpDetails.aspx?lx8nvq=XZM0RJkCqgn7ihY7cTlMhw%253d%253d&nt7=0

David Stocker then got the old transfer agent, Holliday Stock Transfer, to issue him 50,000,000 shares through his entity Carrera Capital Inc on April 10, 2006 (goes to show you how little transfer agents actually take their role as gate keepers seriously).

The new transfer agent, Pacific Stock Transfer, continued to honor those David Stocker shares up until as recently as July 2015 when AVLS finally started to make a big stink about them after FINRA denied their request for a name change to OTC Exchange Inc.

It is kind of ironic that John Jarvis hijacked the AVLS shell in the exact same way that got David Stocker banned from the industry and in an awesome twist of fate/justice it was David Stocker's name being a part of AVLS that finally got this illegally hijacked shell suspended.

Nothing like dubious press releases to cause a suspension.
👍️0
janice shell janice shell 9 years ago
I suppose they were offended by John Jarvis's grandiose claims of intending to open his own "exchange" for OTC stocks. Sheesh, though, I wrote about that back in February, when the "OTC Exchange" was still part of GRCV. They might as well have taken that ticker out of circulation too, and the Zoyes Boyz, who'd temporarily hooked up with Jarvis, along with it.
