Apple Near Cloud-Based Music Deals With Universal, Sony -Report

Apple Inc. (AAPL) has signed a licensing deal to provide EMI
Music recordings through Apple's "cloud," or Internet-based,
network, and it is close to wrapping up deals with Universal Music
Group and Sony Music Entertainment, technology-news service CNet
reported late Wednesday, citing music industry sources.
A deal with Warner Music Group Corp. (WMG) is already in place,
and talks with Sony and Universal could be concluded by next week,
the sources said.
It wasn't known when Apple would announce the deals with the
industry's four leading record labels or roll out its fully
licensed cloud service. Apple and representatives of the labels
declined to comment to CNet.
