CHICAGO, Jan. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Valid S.A. ("Company") (BM&FBOVESPA: VLID3 ON), is pleased to inform its shareholders and the market in general the State of Washington's Department of Licensing, in the United States, awarded the contract for a new enrollment and central issuance system for driver's licenses and identification cards to its subsidiary, Valid USA. 

The project planning and development will start in January 2015, with enrollment and card production starting in August of 2016. Under the 5-year enrollment and card production contract Valid will manufacture and issue approximately 1.7 million secure credentials each year. Valid USA will manufacture and personalize traditional driver's licenses and enhanced driver's licenses. Enhanced driver's licenses are a convenient alternative for entering the United States from Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean through a land or sea port of entry, in addition to serving as a permit to drive.

The services Valid will provide as part of this contract include: secure card manufacturing, card personalization and issuance, facial recognition, photo capture, and gated issuance. The implementation of these services will be primarily through the use of Valid's proprietary browser based enrollment, workflow management, facial recognition, and card printing software called WebLink ID.
