Glencar Commences Drilling at Asheba Project, Ghana
Glencar is pleased to announce the commencement of a drilling programme at its
Asheba project in Ghana. Drilling started today, Thursday, and the initial short
phase of the programme is expected to be completed before Christmas.
This phase of the programme will be directed to the Atinasi North and Tanaya
prospects, part of the recently extended and now 3 km long Atinasi-Tanaya
mineralised trend within the concession area. Drilling will be carried out
initially by RAB method and will involve the completion of some 50 holes to
approximate depth of 30 metres. There has been no previous drilling on these
prospects and the current shallow first pass drilling programme is designed to
test the extent of the mapped mineralised structures at each prospect. A second
phase drilling programme, is planned for the first quarter of 2004 to
incorporate deeper drilling at the Atinasi and Tanaya targets.
Results of the current phase of drilling are expected in January.
