DIRECTOR'S SHAREHOLDING

Dart Group PLC ("Dart Group") announces that it has been informed that Mr
Philip Meeson, Executive Chairman, on Thursday 23 July, 1998 sold 291,429
Ordinary shares of 10p each in Dart Group at 437p per share, representing
approximately 1.8% of Dart Group's issued ordinary share capital.  All the
shares have been placed with clients of Collins Stewart.

Subsequent to this disposal Mr Meeson retains 7,300,000 shares, representing
45.4% of Dart Group's issued share capital.

The disposal was made in order to satisfy continuing institutional demand.  Mr
Meeson does not intend to dispose of any further shares in the foreseeable
future.
