Shell Pipeline Co. closed the pipeline that brings oil from Houma, La., to Houston as Hurricane Isaac bears down on the Gulf of Mexico, the company said Tuesday.

Shell Pipeline, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA, RDSA.LN), said it closed the 325,000-barrel-a-day pipeline late Monday. The pipeline delivers crude oil to refineries in St. Charles, La., and Port Arthur, Texas, among other delivery points.
