Swiss pumps and engineering firm Sulzer AG (SUN.EB) Wednesday appointed Juergen Brandt as its interim Chief Executive Officer, effective from November 1.

MAIN FACTS:

- Brandt replaces current CEO Ton Buechner who leaves Sulzer at the end of October to become CEO at Akzo Nobel NV, as was announced in June.

- Brandt will continue his role as chief financial officer at Sulzer.

- "The recruiting process for the new Chief Executive Officer of Sulzer is underway and an appointment will be announced in due course," Sulzer said in a statement.
