New café brings the crookie and other innovative baked goods,
pastries and patisserie to the neighborhood.
FREDERICK, Md., Oct. 2, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Frederick just got crumbier. Roggenart
European Bakery, Bistro and Café officially opened its doors and is
serving up the flakiest croissants in town. Local community leaders
including Frederick Mayor
Michael O'Connor, Alderman
Kelly Russell, Senator Karen Lewis Young, Fire Chief Thomas Coe, Madelyn
Wilson of the Frederick
County Chamber of Commerce, Endia
Snowden of the Frederick County Office of Economic
Development, Donna Goff of the City
of Frederick Economic Development Department, and Ysela Bravo of Frederick County Executive
Fitzwater's team joined owners Neman
Popov and Brody Tennant as
the pair broke a ceremonial large croissant to celebrate on
October 1.
"Frederick
is a charming area steeped in history – a perfect spot for us to
showcase our baked goods, pastries and patisserie, all based on the
traditional European style, but with a twist," added Neman Popov, owner and managing partner.
The new location is in the Frederick Shopping Center at 1305 W.
7th Street and is the newest home to Roggenart's viral menu item –
the crookie – as well as more traditional, European baked goods,
pastries and patisserie. Roggenart's menu also includes breakfast
and lunch items like egg and cheese on a flaky croissant,
oven-baked melts, and cast-iron pressed sandwiches.
"Small businesses like Roggenart truly spice up Frederick's flavor." said Frederick Mayor Michael O'Connor. "With each one that opens, we
mix in more economic vibrancy and community spirit. So, to all our
residents 'kneading' a pick-me-up, now's the perfect time to roll
on by and get your fill!"
"We are so excited for Frederick to taste our flaky baked goods,"
said Brody Tennant, owner and
managing partner. "Come on in for your favorite fall beverage – we
have pumpkin spiced lattes too – and enjoy your favorite sweet
treat."
The focus on unique, European-inspired flavors is evident
throughout the menu, which features a variety of goods that are
baked fresh daily, including the bacon and gruyere swirl featuring
sauteed bacon and gruyere cheese rolled into croissant dough and
topped with more gruyere, and the Danish generously filled with
sweet cheese. The menu also includes a variety of vegan products,
including croissants, Danishes and sandwiches.
"Frederick is a charming area
steeped in history – a perfect spot for us to showcase our baked
goods, pastries and patisserie, all based on the traditional
European style, but with a twist," added Neman Popov, owner and managing partner.
