NetEnt offers a wide range of solutions for online casinos, and for many players, NetEnt has become synonymous with not just high-quality games but with a high-quality overall casino experience.

NetEnt offers both animated casino games and a live dealer casino. Their selection of pooled  progressive jackpots includes some of the internet´s largest casino jackpots, such as the famous Mega Fortune Mega Jackpot and the Hall of Gods Mega Jackpot.

History

Unlike many other casino game developers, NetEnt actually have its roots in the offline casino world.

Way back in 1963, the company AB Restaurang Rouletter was formed in Sweden by Bill Lindwall and Rolf Lundström. Back then, there weren´t even any offline casinos in Sweden, but night clubs and restaurants could be granted permission to offer a bit of casino-style gambling, and this was the nische for AB Restaurang Rouletter.

AB Restaurang Rouletter eventually broadened their offering to include gambling machines by joining forces with AB Roulette konsult & Spelautomater, which had been founded by Per Hamberg and Lars Kling in 1968. The combined company registered the name Cherry in the early 1970s and the company group became known as Cherryföretagen.

So, what does all this have to do with the online gambling giant NetEnt? In the 1990s, a project that would eventually turn into NetEnt was launched within the Cherry group by Pontus Lindwall, the son of Bill Lindwall. With i a focus on the emerging online gaming market, the company NetEntertainment was formally created in 1996, back when online gambling was still in its infancy.

NetEntertainment became one of the pioneers in the field of online gambling – not just in Sweden but internationally. The first NetEntertainment casino was launched in the 00s. Today, NetEnt does not run casinos – they only provide games and other services to third-party casinos. The core product is the NetEnt CasinoModule, which includes a large game selection and nifty administration tools.

NetEnt remained a part of the Cherry group until 2007 when it was moved out of the group and listed on NGM Equity. (Two years later, it moved from NGM Equity to the main list of the Stockholm Stock Exhange.)

NetEnt cooperates with a large number of online casinos.  Click here to see a Netent casino list.
