Acquisition to allow for “Expansion of wireless construction services and broader geographic reach”

S&N Communications, a provider of locating, construction and maintenance services to telecomm, cable and utility companies in 35 states, has announced its acquisition of two regional leaders in wireless construction, maintenance, deployment and professional services. Tower 16, Inc. and SCE, Inc., have been acquired and are now wholly-owned subsidiaries of S&N Communications.

With these acquisitions, S&N Communication will have a greater presence in the northeast United States and all three companies will enjoy a new synergy of services and opportunity for expanded services. With Tower 16 and SCE specialization in wireless services, S&N Communications will bolster its services in this area. In addition, current Tower 16 and SCE customers will enjoy a large range of new services offered by S&N that were not available previously, including fiber, copper and coax construction and maintenance; electric construction and maintenance, gas services, and facility locating, inventory and logistics management.

“S&N is growing quickly, both organically and through acquisitions,” said Allen Powell, CEO and president of S&N Communications. “Our growth strategy is well planned, looking at the capabilities, strengths and footprint of any companies we consider acquiring. The acquisition of Tower 16 and SCE perfectly fit the qualifications we were after and will be very advantageous for our company, our customers and our employees.”

According to Powell, both companies brought core capabilities to the table and both have solid reputations for excellence in their markets. Tower 16, located in Joppa, MD, is the regional leader in wireless infrastructure construction and maintenance services. SCE is headquartered in Columbia, MD, and is a regional leader for infrastructure deployment and professional services. The acquisition will strengthen S &N’s wireless capabilities, which is considered a high-growth area for the company.

Tower 16 and SCE will continue operating under their current names with Ed Humes taking the reigns as president of both companies and reporting to Powell.
