French utility GDF Suez SA (GSZ.FR) plans to discuss with Italian oil company Eni SpA (E) the "hole" in a previously agreed asset exchange, after GDF Suez backed away from acquiring Romana Gas, Chief Executive Gerard Mestrallet said Thursday.

Mestrallet also said there's no deadline for the company to negotiate a new accord with Italian partner Acea SpA (ACE.MI).
