The Board of API plc (the 'Company') received notification today, in accordance
with part IV of the Companies Act 1985, that, following recent market purchases,
Artemis Investment Management Limited and its subsidiary company, Artemis
Special Situations, have a beneficial interest of 3,000,000 ordinary shares of
25p each in API plc, representing 8.86% of the issued share capital of the
Company.
