Limited that as at 20 January 2004, BriTel Fund Trustees Limited (The Trustees
of BT Pension Scheme) is interested in 1,544,946 ordinary shares of 10p each in
the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), representing 4.03 per cent. of the issued share
capital of the Company. These Ordinary Shares are registered in the name of
BriTel Fund Nominees Ltd.
