Sempra lifted its profit projections for 2023 after posting robust growth in first-quarter natural-gas utility revenue.

Sempra expects earnings of $8.76 to $9.36 a share, up from a previous projection of $8.60 to $9.20 a share.

The utility operator continues to expect earnings between $8.60 and $9.20 a share on an adjusted basis.

For 2024, Sempra targeted earnings between $9.10 and $9.80 a share.

Natural-gas utility revenue almost doubled in the first three months of 2023 as rates for customers rose.
