RICHMOND, Va., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Markel Corporation
(NYSE: MKL) announced today that Paul W. Springman, who has been on
a leave of absence since late October, has resigned as the
corporation's President and Chief Operating Officer effective
January 1, 2010 to pursue other interests. Alan I. Kirshner,
